SHELL TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS


       That heat exchanger is consisted of a cylindrical body with parallel tubes inside of it. One of the fluids passes through the tubes and the other passes through the shell. Main parts are tubes or tube bundle, shell, the front and back tube sheets where the tubes are determined and the light baffles which direct the flow inside of the shell.

a) Straight-Tube Heat Exchangers


       In practice, they are made with double tube but there are also varities that can make with tube bundle. The double tube is the simplest type of heat exchanger. System mostly is made with two tubes in the same axis. While one of the fluids is passing through the inside tube, the other is passing through the outside tube. The flow directions of the fluids can be parallel or reverse.

b) U-Tube Heat Exchangers


       Allthough the production style is similar with Straight-Tube Heat Exchangers, there are some differences between them. One side of the tubes is U-Bend and there is no tube sheet where the tubes are U-Bend. This are the most important differences in the production.
