Continuously Wound Spiral L Form Finned Tubes

The fin is pre-formed and then tension-wound onto the tube. The L form footprint grips the tube tightly and delivers high efficiency.

On our purpose-built machine for continuously wound spiral finned tube production, the fin is first pre-formed and then wrapped onto the tube under tension.

When carbon steel tube and carbon steel fin are selected, we recommend hot-dip galvanizing to our customers.

There are two main reasons for this: to protect the products against corrosion, and to perfect the heat transfer between the fin and the tube.

Advantages and Disadvantages

  • More expensive than the corrugated, I and G forms; in return it offers high efficiency.
  • Thanks to the distinctive L form design the fins grip the tube very tightly, giving resistance to thermal cycling and to high-velocity air-induced vibration.
  • There is no turbulence, so air-borne noise is very low.
  • It is one of the fin profiles used in special applications.
  • It does not tend to trap dust or similar particles.
